Memorandum Submitted for Inter-District Transfer of Spouse Teachers
The Spouse Teachers Association, Uttar Pradesh, submitted a formal memorandum to Hon'ble MLA Shri Krishna Paswan (Khaga Assembly Constituency, Fatehpur) regarding the long-pending issue of inter-district transfers for spouse teachers. The association highlighted that many teachers working under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council are posted in different districts from their spouses, despite both being government employees. This separation has caused significant family, social, and psychological hardships. It also adversely affects teachers' morale, work efficiency, and their contribution to the education system. The memorandum pointed out that although the government has repeatedly expressed its intention to prioritize the transfer of spouse teachers, an effective policy has yet to be implemented in practice. As a result, thousands of teachers continue to face unnecessary challenges in balancing their professional and family lives. The association emphasized that posting husband and wife in the same district or home district would strengthen family stability, improve mental well-being, increase job satisfaction, and ultimately enhance the quality of education by enabling teachers to perform more effectively. The organization requested the Hon'ble MLA to raise the matter before the Hon'ble Chief Minister, the Hon'ble Education Minister, and the concerned departmental authorities. It urged the government to introduce a clear, transparent, and practical inter-district transfer policy during the upcoming summer transfer session so that eligible spouse teachers can benefit through a fair application-based process. The memorandum concluded by expressing confidence that the government's sensitivity and support would help resolve the issue and restore balance, stability, and satisfaction in the lives of thousands of spouse teachers across Uttar Pradesh.
