Lalitpur Unit Submits Memorandum to MLA Seeking Inter-District Transfers for Spouse Teachers

Lalitpur Unit Submits Memorandum to MLA Seeking Inter-District Transfers for Spouse Teachers

The Lalitpur District Unit of the Spouse Teachers Association, Uttar Pradesh, submitted a memorandum to Hon'ble MLA Shri Ramratan Kushwaha regarding the issue of inter-district transfers for spouse teachers. The memorandum states that many teachers working under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council have spouses employed in different districts under government services. Because husband and wife are posted separately, they continue to face significant family, social, and psychological hardships. The association emphasized that prolonged separation not only affects teachers' personal lives but also reduces morale, work efficiency, and their contribution to the education system. Teachers have repeatedly submitted representations at different administrative levels, yet the demand for posting spouse teachers in the same district or home district has not been effectively implemented. Although the government has consistently announced that spouse teachers would receive priority during transfers, the association pointed out that these assurances have not translated into practical implementation. The memorandum requested the Hon'ble MLA to raise the issue before the state government and the concerned authorities, urging the introduction of a transparent, fair, and effective inter-district transfer policy that allows eligible spouse teachers to be posted together and ensures greater family stability, teacher satisfaction, and improved educational outcomes.
